Andrew Thompson

Associate

Andrew brings a gentle and welcoming presence to his counselling sessions. He desires to provide a non-judgmental space in order to listen to the needs, the hurts and the hopes of the individual. His experience has brought him to work in the area of grief and loss, anxiety, depression, relationships and identifying strengths and solutions to life transitions. 


Andrew uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. His person-centred approach allows him to be led by the goals and hopes of the client. He continues to learn and appreciate how each moment of life is a gift and therefore desires to live life fully in the present moment. 


He is an ordained presbyterian minister in the Presbyterian Church in Canada with over ten years of experience serving within two presbyterian churches. He has a Masters of Divinity, and is working towards his Masters of Pastoral Studies in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy.  He has served various pastoral roles for organizations within the community where he currently serves including his work as a Reserve Chaplain with the Canadian Armed Forces. 


In his spare time, he appreciates woodworking, playing guitar, fishing, reading, travelling and spending time with family.
